INÊS VALLE

Inês Valle an independent curator, director of the Cera Project and chief art curator at Velvenoir brings years of experience within the global art market, across both the primary and secondary sectors. In her work, she specialised in international collaboration, political art, and lately on art as an investment commodity. In 2013, she completed her master with a focus on contemporary aboriginal art as a vindicate socio-political tool at the University of Lisbon. In the last decade she has been working with European and African Art, and lately South Asian and American Arts.

 

Believing in the international and interdisciplinary preservation and exchange of ideas she has initiated and participated in several art projects that aim to stimulate an understanding of the conceptual notion of the ‘other’, not to insert or present alternatives to dominant hegemonic narratives but to interrupt, interrogate and investigate the effects and possibilities of the unheard and the omitted ones. ​

 

She collaborates with several art organisations as Canberra Contemporary Art (AU), Centro Cultural Belém (PT), Colecção Museu Berardo (PT), National Museum of Lagos (Nigeria) and several independent art spaces, commercial art galleries and art dealers, to bring contemporary art to international collectors of today.
